The need for this tutorial arised when we received at the
Open Clip Art Library a donation of clipart images in PNG format. As the library mission is to collect images in
vector format (SVG), we needed a quick way to convert them without having to do a complete redraw.
Ryan Lerch did a
tutorial needing both
GIMP and
Inkscape, so I did my own, simplified and using
Inkscape exclusively.
The tutorial is a single file, is two formats:
- SVG - this make use of the Blur filter, so for best viewing in a browser you will need at least Firefox 3 (Alpha 1 is avaialble and works). You can open it in Inkscape, of course.
- PNG - is the rasterized version of the SVG above.
This tutorial is free, but if you find it entertaining,
